Mr. Adron "Dobber" Hicks, age 85, of Waterloo, Arkansas, passed away, Tuesday, March 26 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana. He was born on January 21, 1928, in Caney, Arkansas, to Monroe and Effie Green Hicks. Mr. Hicks was a retired truck driver with Paul M. Davis Trucking, and was also a farmer and raised cattle. He was a member of Morris Baptist Church and a Mason in Prescott Lodge #75. He was also a 14 year member of the Nevada County Quorum Court, being the first person in Nevada County to win an election as a write in candidate, President of the Willisville Riding Club, and an avid fox hunter as a member of the Forks of the Creek Hunting Club. He was a veteran of the United States Army stationed in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska during World War II. Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Bro. Raymond, Leo, Hilton, Bob and Larry Hicks and three sisters, Pickie Kale, Nellie Callicott and Inez Callicott. Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife of 36 years, Melba Davis Hicks, three sons, Ronnie Hicks and wife Vicky of Willisville, Bo Hicks and wife Laurie of Magnolia, Arkansas, and Kenny Hicks and wife Toni of Bella Vista, Arkansas, a daughter, Jean Combs of Marysville, Arkansas, a sister, Bonnie Haynes and husband Donnie of Blevins, Arkansas, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 28, at Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott. Funeral service for Mr. Hicks will be 2:00 pm, Friday, March 29, at Morris Baptist Church, in Caney, Arkansas, Bro. Matthew Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Caney Cemetery in Caney.
