Mrs. Alma Iva Jones Renfro, 94, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Haughton, Louisiana, following a brief illness. Mrs. Renfro was born April 20, 1916, in Redland Township, near Prescott, Arkansas, to Louis Jefferson Jones and Flora Ann Hooks. She married Ike Ellis Renfro on July 11, 1936. To this union were born two beautiful daughters Norma Ann and Alma Louise. Alma was a faithful wife and loving mother. During her husbands service in WWII, they moved to California where Alma was an original Rosie the Riveter. . Afterwards, they returned to Prescott, Arkansas, and finally settled in Haughton, Louisiana, where Alma had a beauty shop in her home. Almas relatives founded the Assemblies of God in Arkansas, she was a faithful member of Love Chapel and later of Central Assembly of God in Haughton, Louisiana. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an excellent cook and loved working with her hands. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ike Renfro; daughter Norma Floyd and husband John; her parents; eight brothers; and two sisters. Her Survivors Include: One Daughter: Louise Rowell and Jim. Two Grandchildren: Clia Guyans and Matt Edmonds. Six Great-Grandchildren and One Great-Great-Grandchild, other family and friends. Pallbearers will be her associate pastors: Rev. Carlton Gilmer, Rev. Ken Craft, Rev. Ken Richmond, Rev. Chad Rhodes, Rev. Jeff Manuel, and Rev. Dustin Johnston. Graveside Services will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas.
