Mrs. Ethel Amelda Parker, 86 of Hope, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on July 8th, 2010. She was born on November 8, 1923 in Monette, AR to the late James & Ethel Meacham and was one of nine children. She attended school in Silverdale, AR and Arbyrd, MO where she was active in the girls Glee club and played basketball and was on the track team. She married I. L. Parker on August 31, 1940. They were married for 55 years before his death in 1995. During their married life they served many churches that he pastored and she always worked diligently with him in the church in many different capacities. She played the piano, served as WMU President, taught adult Sunday School classes, various childrens classes, worked in VBS ~ wherever they needed a worker, she was there. She never tired of using her beautiful alto voice to sing praises to her Lord and Savior. She read the Bible through many times and up to the day she went in the hospital was still working on Bible Study workbooks. She was an active member of the Ruth Sunday School Class of Calvary Baptist Church. Many years she was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team and enjoyed sewing and gardening. The last three years of her life were brightened by her faithful dog and companion, Princess. She was preceded in death by her husband I. L. Parker; by three brothers James Meacham and wife Nell of Flint, Michigan, Cyril Meacham and wife Madge of Piggott, J. T. Meacham of San Diego, CA. and one sister Elizabeth Fox and husband Emery Joe. She is survived by: One daughter, Glenda Seabaugh and husband Wayne, Hot Springs Village, AR; Three sons, Kenneth Parker, Hope, AR, David Parker and wife Glynda, Hope, AR; Jim Parker and Paula of Russellville, AR.; Seven grandchildren - Four grandsons, Mitchell Seabaugh and wife Leah; Newnan, GA; Michael Seabaugh and wife Laurie, Ponca City, OK; Mark Seabaugh and wife Gina, North Little Rock, AR; Robert Parker and wife Julie, Owassa, OK. Three granddaughters, Sondra Cooper, Hope, AR. Tonya Caldwell and husband Jason, Hope, AR; Jodi Strasner and Scott, Russellville, AR.; Sixteen great-grandchildren: Karen McRae and husband Will; Ryan, Shelby, Haydn, Gracen, Hannah, Sarahbeth , Jack Seabaugh, Parker and Raeleigh Cooper, Andrew and Brock Parker, Lauren Elise, Jacob and Max Caldwell, and Sophie Strasner. Three great-great-grandchildren Alex and Rebecca McRae and Andrew Seabaugh. Three sisters; Regina New, Malden, MO; Alice Bagby and husband Charles, Silverdale, AR.; Eva Wright, Cardwell, Mo.; One brother: Lloyd Meacham and wife Marlene, Dunedin, Fl. Along with many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church, Hope, with Rev. Hal Dixon and Rev.
