Mrs. Ann Thrash Grigg, 96 of Hope passed away, Saturday, February 25, 2012. Ann was born on, Tuesday, December 21, 1915 in Washington, Arkansas to John Oscar and Eunice Jane Thompson Gold. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Hubert Thrash and Guy M. Grigg. After graduating from Hot Springs High School in 1933, she moved to Mt. Ida, Arkansas, to work for the Government Seed and Feed Loan Department. On December 24, 1934, she married William Hubert Thrash. After a stint in the army, Ann and Hubert established home in Hope, Arkansas. Ann taught Sunday School classes (children to adults) at First Baptist Church for over fifty years. She was church secretary for nine years until 1972 when her husband passed away. At that time, she joined Tol-E-Tex Oil Company, a family business and served there until retirement. In August of 1982, she married Guy M. Grigg in Hope, where they lived for twenty-two years. Mrs. Grigg is survived by her son, Larry Dan Thrash and special friend, Elizabeth Welch of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, her daughter; Linda Thrash Roebuck and husband, Edward of Arnold, Maryland; grandson, Ted M. Jones and Elizabeth of Charlottesville, VA, grandson, Aaron William Roebuck and Karen, Frederick, MD; grandson, Logan Thrash and Jen, St. Charles, MO; step-grandson, Robert Phillips, Bossier City, LA; former daughter-in-law, Connie Phillips Thrash, Bossier City, LA; great-grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth Jones, Charlottesville, VA; Caroline Ann and Sarah Katherine Roebuck, Frederick, MD; Opheila June Thrash, St. Charles, MO; step-great-grandchildren, Camille and Cameron Phillips, Bossier City, LA; Charlotte Bobo, Hope, special friend; nieces and nephews and her extended family, The First Baptist Church. For those that had the opportunity to come into contact with Ms. Ann , Ms. Annie, Mrs. Grigg, or Mrs. Thrash were blessed with the Light of her Lord Shining Bright. Never in question was her unwavering trust in the Lord and her faithfulness to Him as witnessed by those she touchedmany she never knew. The Family will receive friends, 6:00 to 8:00pm, Monday, February 27, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hope. Funeral service for Mrs. Grigg will be 4:00pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Hope. Rev. Stan Parris and Rev. Mark Fischer will officiate the service.
