Mrs. Barbara Lowdermilk, age 71 of Prescott , Arkansas passed away, Sunday, November 13, 2016 . She was born in Hope , Arkansas on December 16, 1944 to Eugene and Muriel O'Steen.  Barbara was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Prescott and a Administrative Assistant for Farm Bureau for 24 years.  She was truly devoted to her husband and her family. She was dearly loved all her church family, her close friends and especially her grandchildren. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandchild, Jaycee Mason.

Survivors include; her husband of 54 years, Ronnie Lowdermilk of Prescott, three sons; Gary Lowdermilk, wife, Barbara, Randy Lowdermilk, wife, Charity, and Brian Lowdermilk, wife, Amanda all of Prescott, one brother; Tom O'Steen, wife, Cheryl of Allen, Texas, seven grandchildren: Sammy Lowdermilk, Whitney Mason, Caleb Lowdermilk, Jordan Lowdermilk, Eli Lowdermilk, Brylee Lowdermilk and Sebastian Gomez and three great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Virginia Burton and Jimmy of Prescott, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Fond memories of Barbara include the simple ways she showed her love for family and friends. She was a true southern cook and was well known for the "best chicken and dumplings ever." Those fortunate enough to have had Thanksgiving in her home know this to be true. But she was humble. She was a giver, and made sure everyone felt welcome in her home. Visitors were usually greeted at the front door by a fresh pot of mums or pansies, or geraniums, depending on the season. She enjoyed taking care of her home and working in her yard.

As a mother of three sons she learned to like football, baseball, and even wrestling. She learned the rules of football. She flipped burgers and served hot dogs from the Little League Concession Stand when her boys were young. She made time to watch wrestling with her sons and nephew, and their friends, despite the flamboyant outfits and questionable stunts. Those were good times.

Her grandchildren remember how she loved Branson, especially in the fall. She rode the train with them at Silver Dollar City. She never failed to show them Rudolph's red nose each Christmas Eve. There happened to be an airplane tower just out back. A wonderful grandmother, she loved her babies, each and every one. Some are grown, some are still growing; to her it did not matter. She's credited with having raised her brother, and spoiled her husband.  And, she was strong.

She was the matriarch of the family; her sister-in-law and niece always called her first when they had news to share. She continued to do for others, even when she did not feel well. And when she was dealt bad news, she kept a good attitude. She kept hope, and trusted God. She knew He was in control all along, and she would assure you she wasn't wrong. She loved, and was loved. She will be missed, but just for awhile. Her testimony is alive and well.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at BRAZZEL/Cornish Funeral Home 1196 Hwy, 371 West in Prescott .

Funeral service will be 2:00pm , on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Central Baptist Church in Prescott with Bro. Perry Johnson officiating. Burial will be  in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery .
