MRS. BERNIECE J. MCNEAL, 94, Hope, Arkansas (Formerly of Paris, Ark.)passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2007 in her daughters home. She was born in Fort Smith, Ark. on May 30, 1913, to Oscar Benjamin and Mary Leona Jewel Brickey.She was a loving, loyal wife and mother; fun-loving grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who enjoyed her annual family reunion/birthday party every year with 40+ family members telling funny stories. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Paris, Ark. and taught Sunday School there for 40 years. She was a Girl Scout for 35 years and was the recipient of the Friendship Award. Because it was her dream, she initiated a fund drive to build a girl scout hut which was named the McNeal Hut, in her honor. In 1983, she was the recipient of the Golden Harvest Award in Paris, Ark. She loved to bird-watch, had a very green thumb and a great sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Glenn O. McNeal, who died in 1986. HER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: THREE SONS: Glenn O. McNeal and Cherie, Arab, Alabama. Larry W. McNeal and Judy, Waldo, Ark. David W. McNeal and Alice, Eureka Springs, Ark. ONE DAUGHTER: Gayle Garner and Larry, Hope, Ark. ONE SPECIAL SISTER-IN-LAW: Ruth McNeal, Paris, Ark. AND ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN, NINETEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN AND ONE GREAT- GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER.
