Obituary

Mrs. Betty Jean Cagle, born July 7, 1931, went to be with the Lord at her home on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. She attended Boughton and Prescott Schools. On August 2, 1949, she married Roy Gant Cagle of Prescott, Arkansas. She later attended Henderson State University and received her Bachelors and Master Degrees. After several years of teaching elementary school in Prescott, she and her husband moved to Juneau, Alaska, where she taught in the school system as a Reading Specialist. Following 13 years in Juneau, she and Roy retired and returned to their hometown of Prescott. She was a devoted Christian, attended Central Baptist Church and taught a ladies Sunday School class. Having no children of her own, she dearly loved her pets. For many years she and her husband, Roy Gant Cagle, owned and operated the Hildebrands Station in Redland Community. Betty loved writing poems about the people in her life and recently published her own book of poetry entitled Waves of Yesterday . She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Annie Baker and seven sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Roy Cagle and her sister-in-law, Lola Cagle of Hot Springs, Arkansas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral service will be 2:00pm, Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Central Baptist Church with Bro. Perry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Prescott, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm, Friday, November 25 at Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott.
