MRS. BETTY JANE FOSTER, 97, Dallas, Texas (Formerly of Hope and Spring Hill, Ark.) beloved mother, grandmother, teacher and friend passed away on Friday March 28, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on May 1, 1910 in Houston, Texas, to Paul Thomas and Susie Miller Hart Staggs, but returned with her family to the family farm just outside of Hope, Ark. nine months later. She remained in the Hope and Spring Hill area for the remained of her life. She graduated from Hope High School and Henderson State University and taught school for approximately 50 years with a passion for helping children learn. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hope, which she loved and attended for over 50 years. She taught Sunday School there for 25 years. Betty Jane had a wide variety of interests and over the years was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, DAR, Cosmopolitan Club, Retired Teachers, Business and Professional Womens Club and the Historical Society. She also volunteered for various civic activities following her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Autrey E. Foster; by one son, Marion Franklin Foster; and by one sister, Ruth Staggs. She was deeply loved by her family and will always be an inspiration to them through the love she gave and the way she lived her life. HER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: ONE SON: Thomas E. Foster and Charlotte, Dallas, TX. ONE GRANDDAUGHTER: Carrie Elizabeth Foster, Dallas, TX. ONE GRANDSON: Christopher Thomas Foster and Stacy, Chicago, Ill.
