Bettye June Spears, born on July 5, 1931, in Strong, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, at the age of 93 in Houston, Texas. She was the beloved daughter of Dee Johnson and Eva Lum Johnson. Bettye proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. She loved her family and dedicated her life to them and her husband.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Doyce Spears.

Bettye is survived by her loving daughters Cara Barer and Lynn Rich, cherished grandchildren Brooke Barer, David Barer, Rae Ellen Kuehner, and Robert White, and adored great-grandchildren Desmond Barer, Early Barer, Jocie Haughton, Aubrey White, and Kayda White.

The funeral will be on Wednesday, February 12th at 10am at the Brazzel Cornish Chapel with a burial to follow at Sweet Home Cemetery.
