Mr. Billy Gilbert, age 79 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Thursday March 24, 2022, in Texarkana, Texas. Billy was born on April 25, 1942, in Fulton, Arkansas, to Henry and Ophelia Chism Gilbert.  He was a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam war and a member of First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Elnora Goldman, Janet Jones, and brother Al Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Melba Bristow Gilbert, daughter, Karen Lowe, (husband) Tommy, granddaughter Callie Jenkins (Andrew) sister, Linda Rosenbaum, brother, Henry Dale Gilbert and numerous, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday March 26, 2022 BRAZZEL/Oakcrest 1001 South Main Hope, Arkansas 71801

Graveside service will be 2:00pm on Sunday March 27, 2022, at Westmoreland Cemetery with Bro. Daniel Bramlett officiating. Burial will follow with military honors.
