Obituary

Billy Ross Griffin, 75, of Prescott, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 12, 2015. Bill is survived by his loving wife Marsha of 53 years. They were married in Prescott, AR, on August 26, 1962. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, James Ross Griffin and Esther Bryson Griffin as well as his sister, Patsy Griffin. Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife Marsha of Prescott, sister Pauline Hays of Prescott, sons Jim and Joe, daughters Jennifer and Julie, grandchildren Shaley, Grace, Griffin, Atticus, Mitchell, Aaron, Jacob, Zachary and Joshua, one great-grandson, Elliott, and loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. Although Bill was born on April 13, 1940, if you were to ask him, he would tell you that his real life began at the age of 15, when he met a young woman named Marsha Roger while working as a lifeguard in Prescott. Marsha became and remained the center point of Bill's life until the very end. After graduating from Prescott High School and serving in the Arkansas Army National Guard, Bill married Marsha on August 26, 1962. Mixed in between earning his Bachelor's in Science, Master's and PhD degrees, Marsha blessed Bill with 4 children: Jim, Joe, Jennifer and Julie. Over the next 40 years or so, Bill worked for the United States Government in various rolls of increasing responsibility, and while Bill had many important achievements during his career, each achievement was overshadowed by his unfailing love and devotion for his lovely wife and children. Along the way, grandchildren began to appear and the love in Bill's heart expanded with each. Anyone that was fortunate to have crossed paths with Bill Griffin will have experienced his gentle kindness. His life will always be remembered by his unconditional love for Marsha and his family. Bill enjoyed learning, reading, cooking, fly fishing, woodworking and, above all, spending time with Marsha. The visitation will be held at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home, Prescott, Arkansas on August 14, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home at 10:00 am, August 15, 2015 with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Interment to follow at Liberty Cemetery in Redland Arkansas.
