Mr. Bobbie L. Bob Maddox, age 71 of Avery, Texas passed away, Friday, May 17, 2013, at St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana. He was born February 12, 1942, in Pineville, Louisiana, to Robert Leon and Delma Lee Smith Maddox. He was a truck driver with Echols Timber Company and served in the United States Army as a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-father; James L. Shope, Sr. and a brother, Curtiss Shope. Mr. Maddox is survived by a son, William David Maddox of Texarkana, Texas, two daughters, Cheryl Allen and husband Timothy of Blevins, Arkansas, Virginia Brewer and husband Rick of Avery, Texas, two brothers, Jimmy Shope of Nash, Texas, Randy Shope of Horatio, Arkansas, a sister, Sharon Austin of Redwater, Texas, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous other family members and a host of friends. Memorial Service for Mr. Maddox will be 2:00 pm, Friday, May 24, at Friendship United Methodist Church in McCaskill, Arkansas, Mr. Jerry Roberts officiating.
