Mr. Bob Atkinson, 77, of Chidester, Arkansas, passed from this life to his heavenly home on September 27, 2015 in Hope, Arkansas. Mr. Bob Atkinson was born in Camden, Arkansas on June 21, 1938 to Gordy and Lucille Atkinson. He graduated from Camden High School in 1956 and after graduation, he served in the United States Navy from 1956-1960. He married Margie Green Atkinson in 1961. He began his career with the United States Postal Service in 1966. After more than 20 years as a letter carrier in Camden, Arkansas, he was promoted to Postmaster. He served as Post Master in the cities of Ozan, Lou Ann, and Chidester, Arkansas. Mr. Atkinson is preceded in death by his parents, Gordy and Lucille Atkinson. He leaves to treasure and cherish his memory: two daughters, Sharon Atkinson of Hope, Arkansas, Karen Bennett and her husband, Harold, of Hope, Arkansas, two very special grandsons; Brandon Bennett of Hope, Arkansas, and Blake Bennett and Kimber of Hot Springs, Arkansas. He is also survived by two brothers; Dick Atkinson and his wife, Mamie, of Houston, Texas, and Rodney Atkinson and his wife, Linda, of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Family visitation will be 9:30-10:30am Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow the visitation at 11:00am, Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Caney Cemetery in Caney, Arkansas with Bro. Larry Goza officiating.
