Obituary

Mr. Bobby Joe Lee, age 83 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Monday, February 9, 2015. He was born in Hope, Arkansas on Monday, June 8, 1931 to Fred and Nancy Lee. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Louie Shelton and a grand-daughter; Jody Diane Lee. Mr. Lee joined the First Baptist Church of Hope, on October 13, 1948 and was a faithful usher for many years and was a member of the Renegades Sunday School Class. He began working at the Hope Furniture Store in 1949, became a licensed funeral director, on January 1, 1957, working at Herndon Funeral Home, as funeral director and bookkeeper and finishing his funeral service career with Brazzel/Oakcrest in 2009. He was holder of Arkansas Funeral Director license number 84, a licensed he held for over 52 years. He joined the Hope Lions Club in 1963 and was a member for over 52 years. He was the oldest club member and was the member of the club the longest, serving on many committees, holding many different offices, and enjoyed cooking at all the club fish fries. He served on the City of Hope's Board of Directors from January 1979 to December 1993, serving on numerous committees and boards. Bobby Joe was an avid outdoorsman, where he enjoyed quail hunting and crappie fishing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was very active in his children's activities. Survivors include the love of his life, Mattie Mae Robinson Lee, who he married on December 19, 1953, his son; Robin Lee, daughter; Lisa Lee Campbell, husband, Max, three grandchildren: Alan Lee, wife, Kristy, Meredith Rook, husband, Ryan, Megan Smith, husband, Ronnie, four great-grandchildren; Kix Lee, R.J. Smith, Jacob Rook and Bristol Lee, other family member and friends. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Fischer officiating. Burial will in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Hope.
