Mrs. Bobbye Shelton Murphy, 83, Hope, Arkansas, passed away on Monday September 17, 2007 at Wadley Regional Medical Center, Texarkana, Texas. She was born on June 18, 1924, in Brownwood, Texas to Troy Jason and Opal McGinnis Shelton. She was a retired co-owner/operator of Dean's Enterprises; faithful loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hope; served 9 years on the Arkansas Health Education Committee Board; P.T.A. member for years; former First Lady of the Missouri-Arkansas Division of Kiwanis International 73-74 and traveled extensively during her many years of Kiwanis service, including Canada and Mexico; was the originator and led in the organization of the Melon City Sams attended many Samborees both State and National, including New Mexico and Mississippi Samborees; former member of Hope B & P.W.; former Justice of the Peace; 50 year member of the Eastern Star having served in all stations, as well as being a Deputy Grand Lecturer and Grand Representative of Florida. She was a soloist for Arkansas Order of the Eastern Star in Little Rock in 1968 and sang in the choir of the International Tri Session of the Eastern Star in Canada. She loved politics, singing, traveling and meeting new friends. Shelton and Toy Horn Shelton, Jasper, Texas. one sister: Odie Joann Hawkins Moore and Jerry, Fouke, Ark. two grandchildren: Marcus Shane Murphy and Jennifer, Hope, Ark.; Bridget Bree Murphy, Hope, Ark. one great-grand-daughter: Jordyn Murphy, Hope, Ark. Private Graveside Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Hope, Ark., with Rev. Earl Cumbie and Dr. Mark Fisher officiating. Entombment to follow.
