Mr. C. Leon Carruthers, 76, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009, in Hillcrest Care and Rehab, Prescott, Arkansas. He was born in Nevada County, Ark. on September 29, 1933 to William Leon and Roxie E. Faulkner Carruthers. He was a retired executive and manager of the Mid-Atlantic Division of Lion Oil Co. having worked in Monroe, La., El Dorado, Ark., Evansville, La., New England and Massachusetts for Merit and Hess also. He then sold registered Beefmaster cattle and bulls for over 10 years after his retirement. He was a member of the Hope Church of Christ and an Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by one brother, Tilman Carruthers and one sister, Louise Haynie. HIS SURVIVORS INCLUDE: HIS WIFE: ( of Years) June Chambless Carruthers, Hope, Ark.
