Mr. Carl V. Thornton, 79, of Hope, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010, in Hope, Arkansas. He was born January 24, 1931,in Caddo Gap, Arkansas to Joe and Belle McKnight Thornton. He was a retired mechanic from Hope Auto and became a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Hope, Arkansas, on June 20, 1965 and was ordained a Deacon on November 2, 1969. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brothers and two sisters. His Survivors Include: His Wife (of 58 years), Oma Lee OSteen Thornton, Hope, Arkansas. Two Daughters: Donna Stowell and Mel, Minden, Louisiana;Sue Atchley and Steve,Hope, Arkansas. One Brother: J. W. Thornton, Hope, Arkansas. Three Sisters: Gracie Dumney, Little Rock, Arkansas; Bessie Allen, Hope, Arkansas, Imogene Maples, Springhill, Louisiana. Four Grandchildren: Leigh Anne Shockley and Brett, Brock McCorkle and Kimberly, Jodi Willis and Matt, and Julie Russell and Steven. One Great-Grandson Brayden Russell. And other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Arkansas, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Neal Ridling, Rev.
