Mr. Carlon C.J. Volentine, 87 of Hope, Arkansas passed away March 29, 2012 in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Volentine was born in Hope, Arkansas on October 24, 1924 to Luther Oliver and Ednie Cobble Volentine. He is a member of Washington Baptist Church in Washington, Arkansas, where he was the oldest deacon of the church and had been of member there for over 50 years. He was a self-employed carpenter in the Hope area for many years and a member of the Carpenters Union. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, of 63 years, Mrs. Maudie Bennett Volentine, who passed in November of 2005, a son, Jerry Lynn Volentine, brothers; Horace and Howard Volentine and sister, Florence Ward. Survivors include, wife, Erma Spivey Volentine of Cale, two sons; Ronald Ronnie Volentine of Emmet and Larry J. Volentine and Lisa of North Little Rock, Daughter; Nancy Grimmett of Richmond, Texas, Brother; James Volentine of Hope, three grandchildren: David Grimmett, III of Richmond, TX, Kimberly Krant of Austin, TX and Macy Volentine of Little Rock, AR, 2 great-grandchildren; Cole Krant and Kaytlin Krant, two step-grandchildren; Jennifer Oxford and Sarah Dunnavant, one step-great-grandchild; Madalyn Oxford. Visitation, Sunday, April 1, 6:00 to 8:00pm at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home.
