Obituary

Mrs. Carolyn Marie Jones Pendergraft, age 76, of Blevins, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Heather Manor Nursing Rehabilitation Center, Hope, Arkansas. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on April 23, 1934, to J. W. and Marianna Lanier Jones. She was a poultry grower, retired owner/operator of El Matador Restaurant of Hope, member of Marlbrook Baptist Church, Blevins, Arkansas; life-long member First Baptist Church, Hope, Arkansas where she was very active as Sunday School Teacher, Director of Vacation Bible School and member of First Baptist Choir. She also volunteered at Blevins School System, Christian Health Clinic in Hope, Arkansas, and taught English as a 2nd Language. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene Pendergraft, three brothers: Billy Jones, Bobby Jones and Jimmy Jones; one great-granddaughter Rose Marie Pendergraft. Her Survivors Include: Two Sons: Mark Pendergraft and Kay, Blevins, Arkansas and Rusty Pendergraft and Becky, Texarkana, Arkansas. Two Daughters: Sue Reeves and Butch, Bryant, Arkansas and Donna Moody and Donald, Blevins, Arkansas. One Sister: Polly Whitlow and John, Little Rock, Arkansas. Two Sister-In-Laws: Jeri Jones, Little Rock, Arkansas and Edith Pendergraft, Little Rock, Arkansas. Ten Grandchildren: Amanda Baker and Randy, Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Michael Pendergraft and Rachel, Prescott, Arkansas; Jeanice Luneau and Patrick, Conway, Arkansas; Jennifer Wannamaker and Jeff, McCaskill, Arkansas; Wes Pendergraft and Sancha, Fouke, Arkansas; Drew Pendergraft, Conway, Arkansas; Kent Reeves, Philadelphia, PA; Phillip Reeves, Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Chad Moody and Blair, Bodcaw, Arkansas; Jamie Crane, Hope, Arkansas, Seven Great-Grandchildren: Emberlynn Pendergraft, Prescott, Arkansas; Parker Luneau, Conway, Arkansas; Gracie Pendergraft and Garrett Pendergraft, Fouke, Arkansas; Taylor Moody and Mason Moody, Bodcaw, Arkansas; Garrison Crane, Hope, Arkansas. And other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Stan Parris officiating. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas. Family will receive friends immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Arkansas Childrens Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas.
