Carolyn J. Wood Hicks passed away August 24, 2025 at her home in the Caney community, after a brief illness.She was born on January 7, 1941, in Prescott, AR. to J.T. Wood and Margie Johnson Wood. She was a lifelong member of Morris Missionary Baptist Church of Caney, AR. She retired after 28 years of working for the Cale and Nevada School Districts.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather John M. Reed of El Dorado AR., husband of 45 years Bobby Hicks of Caney, and sister Celia Karmel of Caney.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis & wife Pat, (Tim, Leah & husband Dawson), Chris, (Lane & wife Liz, Caney & wife Kimberly), stepbrother Clark Reed, and stepsister Nancy Jackson from El Dorado AR., also many close nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 26, 6pm - 8pm, at the Brazzel Cornish Chapel.

Funeral servive will be Wednesday, August 27, 10am, at Morris Baptist Church in Caney, AR. Burial will follow at Caney Cemetery.
