Mrs. Catherine Gladden, age 90, of Gurdon, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013, at The Plaza at Twins Rivers in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was born on July 15, 1923, in Coushatta, Louisiana, to Aldolphus L. and Mittie Robertson Russell. Mrs. Gladden was a housewife and former co-owner of Gladden Ford in Gurdon. She was a loyal and dedicated member of Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon for many years. Mrs. Gladden was a loving wife and mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 71 years, Carl Gladden, a son Andrew Carl Gladden, Jr., a brother, Lynn Russell, and a sister, Ermyntrude McKeever. Mrs. Gladden is survived by two daughters, Jeanie Sarantos of Houston, Texas, and Jo Tweedle and Gerald of Raeford, North Carolina, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous other family members and friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Gladden will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 27, at Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon, with Bro. Randy Cox officiating.
