Mr. C. O. Thomas Adams, age 77 of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013, at Wadley Regional Medical Center at Hope. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Transportation Department. Mr. Adams was born on March 21, 1935, in Paraloma, Arkansas to Homer and Anna Bell Adams. He is preceded in death by his father, George Homer Adams and brother, George Edward Adams. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Vernetia Adams of Oklahoma, four children, Kay Ward and husband Glen of Wagnor, Oklahoma, Cherryl Bass of Hope, Dale Adams and wife Melissa of Washington, Arkansas, and Kenneth Adams and wife Doris of Washington, Arkansas, ten grandchildren, Alicia Bragg and Corey Ward of Oklahoma, Steven Bass of Fulton, Arkansas, Bryan Bass of Hope, Candace Harvel of Hope, Chessie Adams of Texarkana, Texas, Lanie Sanders of Slayden, Mississippi, Justin Adams of Washington, Arkansas, Ashley Adams of Washington, Arkansas, Kara Burton of Hope, and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Anna Bell Adams, four sisters, Matie Fay Norman of Washington, Arkansas, Barbara Wylie, Carolyn Ghormley and Retha Powell of Hope, one brother, Leon Adams of Hope, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Brazzel/Oakcrest the Funeral Home of Hope. Funeral service for Mr. Adams will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel with Bro. Charles Hawley officiating.
