Mrs. Dixie Payton, age 84 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Payton was born June 9, 1931 in Spring Hill, Arkansas, to Robert and Ora Bell Hodnet Huckabee. Mrs. Payton is of the Baptist Faith. She was a retired waitress and she loved to free-hand draw. She was a loving and devoted mother who will be missed by many. Mrs. Payton is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ora Bell Huckabee, husband, Jim Laughard, her second husband, Chuck Payton, one son, Clifton "Bubba" Laughard, one daughter, Rene'e Gaskins, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: three sons; James "Curly" Laughard of Hope, Arkansas, William "Billy" Laughard and his wife, Cheryl, of Hawasse, Arkansas, Darin Laughard and his wife, Bonita, of Hope, Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and other family and friends.

Visitation is 6:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Funeral Service is 2:00pm, Friday, November 27, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel with Mr. Barry Haynes officiating. Burial to follow at Foster Cemetery in Spring Hill, Arkansas.
