Mrs. Doris Jones, age 86 of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Thursday March 2, 2023, in Ashdown, Arkansas. Visitation will be held Monday March 6, 2023 at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home 1:00PM- 2:00PM. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 2:30PM with Bro Charles Jones officiating.
Doris Jean Ferguson Jones, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Little River Nursing and Rehab in Ashdown, Ark. She was born on July 15, 1936, to the late Eugene Edward Ferguson and Jewell Galloway Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Edward (Red) Jones, father of her children Weaver Denson Atkins, great grand-daughter Annslee Mae Gilbert, grand-daughter Amy Taylor, 3 special brother-n-laws Gerald Whitley, David Falconer, and Preston Sinyard.
She leaves to cherish her memories a son Billy Jack Atkins (Virginia) of Hope, daughter Donna Atkins McKee (Bo) of Ashdown, son James Craig Atkins (Rhonda) of Bismarck, sister Avis Sinyard Falconer, brother Rayford O. Ferguson, sister Carolyn Ferguson Whitley all of Hope, along with 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, a very special loved one Debbie Morton, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Doris was a graduate of Guernsey High School where she loved playing basketball, she loved "collecting" and most of all she loved her family. Her favorite hobby was watching her baseball team, The Texas Rangers and her basketball team, The Dallas Mavericks.

Pallbearers will be Will Gilbert, Clay Atkins, Chris Gilbert, Bradley Ross, Ryan Barraclough, and Layton Medlen.
Most of all, the family would like to extend their gratitude to Little River Nursing & Rehab in Ashdown for their extraordinary compassionate care, love, and personal individual needs. The staff there can indeed be called Angels sent from God above.
