Doris Pauline Cummings Powers, 92, of Palm Desert, California, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2012. She was born on April 14, 1920, near Reader, Arkansas, the oldest child of Lloyd and Eunice Cummings. Polly was a retired educator, teaching kindergarten for many years in the California school system. She lived a full life spending many summers in Arkansas. Polly was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Bobbie Anspach of Palm Desert, California and a brother , James Booger Cummings of Prescott. She is survived by three children, son P. J. Powers of Long Beach, California, and daughters, Penny Powers of Canada and Peggy Powers of Long Beach, California, and one granddaughter. She is also survived by a sister, Regena Cole of Rancho Mirage, California and a brother, R. L. Cummings of Prescott, Arkansas, as well as six nieces and five nephews and extended family members. Graveside service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday November 10, at the Bluff City Cemetery Pavilion, Bluff City, Arkansas, Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating.
