Mrs. Doris Ellen Ward, age 88 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Monday, May 30, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Ward was born July 22, 1927 in Bodcaw, Arkansas to K. Spencer and Retha Camp Spencer.  She was co-owner of Double "D" Plumbing and a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a fantastic cook. She had an unwavering faith in God. Her special gift was singing songs of praise and her singing was enjoyed by everyone. She was her family's example of persistence, courage, faith, hope and love. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her parents, K. and Retha Spencer, three brothers; Hollis, Arlis and Ruel Spencer, two sisters; Hazel Burch and Merle Butler.

Survivors include her husband, of 69 years, Denver Ward of Hope, son; Gary Ward, wife, Kay of Hope, three daughters; Susan Minter, husband, Jerry of Greenville, TX, Dena Brown, husband, Jack of Frisco, TX and Wendy Ward-Rascoe and Michael Rascoe of Allen, TX, brother; Troy Spencer, wife, Jessie of Mesquite, TX, and sister, Wanda Campbell of Perrytown, Arkansas, six grandchildren; Jason, Amber and Trevor Minter, T.J. and Leah Sinno and Jacey Zuniga, ten great-grandchildren: Katelynn Clark, Mackenzie, Toby, Madison, Preslee and Tanner Minter, Jaxon, Lainey and Tanner Sinno and Van Zuniga, other family members and friends.

Visitation 6:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Funeral service, 2:00pm, Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Unity Baptist Church in Hope, with Bro. Glenn Tropp, Bro. Randy Bird and Bro. Kenneth Bobo officiating.
