Dorothy Ann "Dot" Evans of Hope, AR, joined her savior and loved ones in heaven, Monday, December 23, 2024, after a ten-year battle with dementia. She was 80 years old.

Dot received Jesus Christ as her savior at the age of 16, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Magnolia, AR. She was presently a member of Garrett Memorial Baptist Church in Hope, AR.

Dot was a real homemaker. She was a faithful loving preacher's wife, a wonderful mother, bodacious cook, and excellent housekeeper. Her home was always open to family, friends, missionaries, evangelist and hurting people. She loved her career as a nurse working in doctors' offices. She was a kind, sweet, loving, and humorous Christian women. She is greatly missed.

Dot is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Dayle Evans; three brothers, Roger Barrett, Mark Barrett, and Don Lucus; three sisters, Peggy Rodgers, Elizabeth Scarberry and Paulette Hughes; sister-in-law, Jane Barrett and nephew, Nathan Rodgers.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerry Evans, a daughter, Julia Diane Evans, brother, Randell Lucas (Joan) of Wichita Falls, TX, two sisters, Donna Lee (Robert) of Taylor, AR, and Jackie Harris (Travis) of Edmond, OK, and many nephews, nieces and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Brazzel Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope, AR, Saturday, January 4, 2025, with visitation at 2 pm and the memorial service at 3 pm. Interment at Union Cemetery, Rosston, AR, at a later date. Officiating are Bro. Ty Boyett, Bro. Brandon Barrett and Bro. Damien Rodgers.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers of Heather Manor Nursing Home of Hope, AR, the Gentiva Hospice of Texarkana, AR, and Ben Brazzel for their services to our loved one.
