Mrs. Dorothy Stainton Garner, age 88, of Prescott, Arkansas, passed away, Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Christus St. Michael Health Center in Texarkana. She was born on January 19, 1925, in Foreman, Arkansas to Roy and Dolly Lowery Stainton. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband L. D. Shorty Garner and two brothers, Dr. Robert M. Bob Stainton and William G. Bill Stainton. Mrs. Garner is survived by three sons, Lyndal D. Lynn Garner, Jr. and wife Sharon of Houston, Texas, Brent Garner and wife Libby of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Steve Garner of Prescott, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous other family members and a host of friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Garner will be 10:00 am, Friday, June 14, at the Brazzel/Cornish Chapel in Prescott, Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott.
