Douglas O.G. Haynes, 89, of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Sunday, December 15th, 2024.

Doug was born on August 21, 1935, in Holladay, Tennessee. His parents were Roy Barry Graydon Haynes and Opal Lucille Douglas.

Doug was the oldest of seven children, four girls and three  boys. Douglas (Joyce), Jack (Phyllis), Gary (Deceased) four girls Edna (Jack), Mavis (Dick), Lavon (Bob), Audrey (Wayne)

Doug grew up in Parsons, Tennessee till he joined the Navy at the age of seventeen. He later came back to Parsons where he met and married his wife Joyce Ann Hammer.

This union produced one son Randy Blane Haynes (Deceased), two daughters, Cindy Haynes McCoulf (Mike) and Ginger Haynes Tolleson (Bill).

Doug worked at Champions Automotive in Hope and then became a chicken farmer in Patmos.

Doug loved the outdoors, riding his four wheelers, being in the woods with his dogs and being with nature. He had an eye for hunting and loved his guns. He was a member of the M&M hunting club. He was also known as the Patmos Hippy with his long hair pulled back in a ponytail.

Doug is survived by his daughter, Cindy McCoulf and grandsons Billy & Steven Bowlus, daughter, Ginger Haynes Tolleson, grandsons Ryan and Will Tolleson, Great Grandson Logan Hernandez. Doug had other nephews and nieces that weren't written down by name and were just as loved in his heart.

Our family would like to thank Tony Gibson, a special friend and nephew, who would go far beyond what was asked of him by our dad. When he would have that tractor or lawnmower fixed one day, there was going to be a call to Tony to come and get fixed after he got off of it.

Rhonda and Vhonda Gibson, all they needed was a call and here they would drop everything and be at your side. We could not have done a lot without these special girls.

Doug will be missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10am at Brazzel Funeral home in Hope, Arkansas.

The service will be led by Nathanel Crane.
