Doyle Goodwin, 81, passed from this life to the next Sunday, June 14, 2015, at his home in Saratoga, Arkansas, surrounded by family and friends. Doyle Burton Goodwin was born May 18, 1934, in Midlothian, Texas. He was the youngest child and only son of M. T. "Mack" Goodwin and Nellie Irene Harris. Mr. Goodwin relocated to Fort Worth with his family in the early 1940s, where he graduated from North Side High School in 1952 and worked for General Portland Cement for 30 years. In later years, he resided in Boyd, Texas, before moving to Arkansas in 2003. Mr. Goodwin was a carpenter and employed his skills in homebuilding and woodworking for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting coins and watching Westerns. Mr. Goodwin was a Christ follower and most recently attended regular services at Lakeside Baptist Church in Daisy, Arkansas. Following a private ceremony for family and close friends, Mr. Goodwin's body will be buried on his son's farm in Saratoga. Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Survivors include daughter Doyla Fisher and her husband, Tom, of Hope, Arkansas; son Lonny Goodwin and his wife, Tammy, of Saratoga; son Richard Goodwin of Denton, Texas; daughter Dana Gillock of Rhome, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and countless other extended family members and friends.
