Edward Gene Woods, Sr. affectionately known as Ed, "Woodchuck," and "Weedges," passed away on July 29, 2026, at the age of 76 while camping with his beloved family at Swaha-doing what he loved most.
Ed was born on February 12, 1950, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Winona Mary Billingsly and Clarence Jake Woods, Sr. He was also blessed by the love and euidance of his stepfather, Thomas Billingsly. He was a devoted husband of Patricia Ann Woods and a proud father to Edward Gene Woods, Jr. Although he had one son. Ed's love extended far beyond his immediate family. "I'll be right there."
He worked many different jobs throughout his life, doing whatever it took to honestly provide for his family. A gifted woodworker and true lack of all trades, there wasn't much he couldn't build, repair, or improve He loved spending quiet evenings reading and watching movies with his wife. His faithful dog, Angel, was his cnstant companion and rarely left his side. An avid outdoorsman, Ed loved camping and fishing, and there was no place he would rather be than surrounded by his family at the campground. It was fitting that his earthly journey ended in one of the places he loved most. More than anything. Ed was devoted to his wife. Patricia Their marriage was built on faith, loyalty, hard work unwavering love. They were true partners in every sense of the word- standing side by side through life's blessings and challenges.
