Obituary

Mr. Elbert Dale "Red" Goodner, age 87, of Hope, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home. Mr. Goodner was born on May 8, 1928 in Mount Ida, Arkansas, to Roy Lee and Doris Miller Goodner. Mr. Goodner was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and worked for AT&T as a switching technician. His favorite hobby was hunting and fishing, and he loved to sing country and western music. Mr. Goodner is preceded in death by; his parents, Roy and Doris Goodner, his wife, Wilma Christine DeArman Goodner, and two brothers; Donzel and Horace Goodner. Survivors include: two sons; Darryl Rhude and his wife, Pam, of Burkburnett, Texas, Lonny Rhude and his wife, Pam, of Chugiak, Alaska, four brothers; Ralph and Morris Goodner, both of Stamps, Arkansas, Mike Goodner of Fouke, Arkansas, Mark Goodner, of Stamps, Arkansas, four grandchildren; Peyton Rhude and his wife, Ashley, Hunter Rhude and his wife, Alex, Kelly Rhude, Lauren Rhude, and a host of other family and friends. Visitation is 6:00-8:00pm Friday, October 2, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Funeral service is 2:00pm Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home with Bro. Ernie Sorrells officiating. Burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Patmos, Arkansas. Arrangements by BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie BRAZZEL, Director.
