Mrs. Elizabeth Peters, age 82 of Patmos, Arkansas passed away, Monday, September 9, 2013, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on November 8, 1930, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Lucian Everett and Marjorie Louise Williamson Hodges. She was a retired Nursing Home Administrator in West Texas. Mrs. Peters was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hope. She was the Mayor of Patmos, considered to be the Community Administrator, Secretary and Treasurer of the Patmos Fire Department and City, and also was known as the First Lady of Patmos. Mrs. Peters also started the Patmos City Park. Her favorite joy was her husband and family, but she also enjoyed greatly donating her time to the Community of Patmos. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Everett Hodges, and a grandson, Blaine Peters. Mrs. Peters is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Robert Peters, five sons, Glenn Peters of Patmos, Mike Peters of Patmos, David Peters of Patmos and Chris Peters of Fort Stockton, Texas, Randy Peters of Patmos, and Gary Peters of Patmos, a daughter, Kathryn Keller and husband Ray of Carlsbad, New Mexico, seven grandchildren, Beth Valenzuela of Austin, Texas, Jeff Keller of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Duce Hobbs of Oologah, Oklahoma, Donna Bolner of New York State, Rodney Peters of Dallas, Texas, Sheena Milburn of Hope, and Haylee Peters of Patmos, six great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 11, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. Funeral service for Mrs. Peters will be 10:00 am, Thursday, September 12, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel with Bro. Jerry Crane officiating. Burial will follow at Patmos Cemetery in Patmos.
