Elued Langston, Jr., the last of his generation, was born February 21, 1923 in Hope, Arkansas to Elued Sr. and Millie Nelson-Langston.
Whether you knew him as Joker, Rod, Ed, Unc, Uncle, Grandpa, Papa, Dad, or Daddy, he was well known and loved by all.
A pillar of his community, he started out as an unskilled laborer at the Prescott Hardware Company, picking up and delivering furniture, laying linoleum, and an all-around handyman. Later, he became a skilled laborer at Robbins linoleum plant, Lone Star Ammunition plant, and eventually retiring from Firestone Building Products. One could say that he was a "Jack-of-all-Trades". He was a plumber, auto mechanic, carpenter, and electrician; but most of all, he was a good man who loved God and his family. He was a life-long loyal and devoted member of Wards Chapel A.M.E. Church where he served as Superintendent of Sunday School, Trustee, Steward, Finance Committee, and Building Fund Overseer.
He was married to his late wife, Anna Scott-Langston, for 64 years, and together they raised four children, all of whom are college-educated.
To carry on his legacy are: daughter Sandra and her husband Allen; sons Herbert and Gerald; grandson Sean (Patrick), granddaughters Alicia, Adenika, and Tanisha; great-grandsons Israel and Jaden; nephews Ricky and wife Irma, Brack, Shelton and wife Joella, Archie Jr. and wife Brooksie, Jerry and wife Dianna, James and wife Michelle, Robert and wife Lois; nieces Hazel, Linda and husband Emery, Barbara, Darnell and husband Bennie, Yvonne; last cousins Lorece, Mattie, and Essie as well as many great and great great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
