Mrs. Etha Mae Pennington, 98, of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009, in Pike County Hospital, Murfreesboro, Arkansas. She was born in Polk County, Arkansas on March 21, 1911, to Joe and Martha Crain Shaw. She was a homemaker and former longtime employee of the Armour Chicken Plant, having worked until the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Herbert E. Pennington; by one son, Lester Pennington; and by one granddaughter, Tammy Lemons. Survivors Include: Three Sons: Joe Pennington and Peggy, Murfreesboro, Ark., Bill Pennington and Gloria, Murfreesboro, Ark. Burnie Pennington and Phyllis, Nathan, Ark. Two Daughters: Ester Scoggins, Murfreesboro, Ark. Tursie Hipp, Hope, Ark. Two Sisters: Onie Lee, Hope, Ark. Agnes Nix, Lockesburg, Ark. And eighteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends. GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Old Piney Cemetery, near DeQueen, Arkansas. Burial to follow. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas.
