Miss Fern Polk, 81 of Waldo, Arkansas passed away Saturday May 19,2012 in Stamps, Arkansas. Miss Polk was born May 10, 1931 in Oklahoma to John and Alice Herndon Polk. She was member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Waldo, having served as Sunday School Teacher and Church Clerk. She was a retired LPN, having worked for Dr. Jones in Waldo for 20 years and Magnolia Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved nursing and helping others. She is preceded in death by her parents,her brothers:John Jr., Charles, Robert and Harold Polk. Miss Polk is survived by several nephews, nieces, and special friends. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00p.m. on Monday May 21, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Waldo, Arkansas. Funeral services for Miss Polk will be 2:00p.m., Tuesday May 22 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Waldo. Rev. Herschel Shackelford and Rev. Larry Miller will officiate the service.
