Mrs. Velna Gay Grandmother Gibson, age 70, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2010, at St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas. She was born on September 30, 1940, in Hempstead County, Arkansas, to S.V. and Myrtle Mae Cogbill Cobb. She was a caregiver, a bookkeeper and a Baptist . She would truly give the shirt off her back to help her family and friends in need. She was loving and kind-hearted and was everyones Grandmother . She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas Ken Gibson, two sons Ricky and Bryan Smith, three brothers, Bobby, Thomas, and Jerry Cobb and one sister Valden Turner. Her Survivors Include: Two Sons: Phil Smith, Hope, Arkansas; Tony Gibson and Robbie, Hope, Arkansas. Three Daughters: Tereasa Tessie Formby, Hope, Arkansas; Rhonda Gibson Ridgdill, Hope, Arkansas; Vhonda Gibson Davidson, Hope, Arkansas. One Daughter-In-Law: Ramona Rawlings Smith, Bodcaw, Arkansas. One Sister: Jan Bush and Jerry, Hope, Arkansas. Ten Grandchildren, Seven Great-Grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Arkansas, with Bro. Paul Shelton officiating. Burial to follow in Westmoreland Cemetery, Crossroads Community, Fulton, Arkansas. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Arkansas. Family will receive friends: Tuesday, October12, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas.
