Mrs. Genia Gilbert, age 72 of Texarkana, Texas, formerly of Hope, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 in Texarkana. Mrs. Gilbert was born July 8, 1943 in Hope, Arkansas to Eugene and Dora Mangum Norvell. She was a member of the Northern Hills Missionary Baptist Church and she was a devoted Christian. Mrs. Gilbert is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Dora Norvell. Survivors include: her husband, James Gilbert of Texarkana, Texas, one son, Mike Gilbert and his wife, Barbara, of Marshall, Texas, one daughter, Kathi Robinson of Texarkana, Texas, three brothers; David Norvell and his wife, Linda, of Alexander, Arkansas, Wayne Norvell and his wife, Eva, of Longview, Texas, Thomas Norvell and his wife, Kim, of Heritage, Tennessee, three grandchildren; Michelle Gilbert, David Gilbert, Brooks Robinson, and other family and friends. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Westmoreland Cemetery Fund at 1147 HWY 195 S., Washington, Arkansas, 71862. There will be no formal visitation. Funeral Service is 2:00pm, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel with Bro. Roger Copeland officiating. Burial to follow at Westmoreland Cemetery in the Cross Roads Community.
