Mrs. Genola Helms Leonard Cornelius, age 91 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Hope. Mrs. Cornelius was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Hope for over 50 years. She was a home maker and had worked at Meyer's Bakery in Hope. Mrs. Cornelius was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and loved her church family. Her favorite hobby and enjoyment in life was taking care of her yard and flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hillary Russell Leonard, two sons: Tommy Leonard, and Richard Leonard, two daughters: Janie Morrow and Sharon Golden, two brothers; Ervin Helms and Cleo Helms, six sisters: Bama Harris, Bessie Foster, Gladys Askins, Eva Adams, Hessie Spears and Estelle Zigler, and grandson: Kenny Brown.
She is survived by one son: Russell Leonard, wife, Gail of Mt. Vernon, TX, two daughters; Sue Endsley, husband, Ron of Hope, and Ronda Leonard Brown, husband, Johnny of Texarkana, AR, twenty-two grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great-grandchildren and her "special" care giver; grand-daughter; Tammy Butler of Hope, other family member and friends.
The family wishes to give a very "Special" thank-you, to Laurel Place Nursing Home and to Serenity Hospice for the care given to Mrs. Cornelius.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church 301 S. Elm Hope, AR 71801 or to your favorite charity.

Funeral service, 10:00am on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home with Rev. David Porterfield officiating.
