Mr. George Dewey Dixon, 88, of Gurdon, Arkansas, entered into his heavenly home with Jesus his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Baptist Health Medical Center, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was born on March 26, 1920, in the South Fork Community of Gurdon, Arkansas the son of the late George Columbus Shorty Dixon and Nellie Callaway Dixon. He retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad as a locomotive engineer after thirty-two years. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Gurdon, Arkansas and was an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Dr. Don Dixon. His Survivors Include: His Wife: (of 62 years) Mary Lou Francis Dixon, Gurdon, Ark. Two Daughters: Kay Hogue and Charles, Sherwood, Ark. Beverly Baggett, Little Rock, Ark. Three Grandchildren: David Hogue, Atlanta, GA. Michael Hogue, Sherwood. Stacey Page and Lanny, Little Rock. Three Great-Grandchildren: Tyler Page, Ashley Page and Brittany Hogue. Two Sisters: Mary Harris and Gene; Betty Jones and Henry. One Brother: Grady Dixon and Eula Mae.One Sister-In-Law: Evelyn Dixon. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 8, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, Gurdon, Gurdon, Ark., with Rev. Gregg Burks and Rev. Rusty Jones officiating. Burial will follow in South Fork Cemetery, Gurdon, Ark. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home, Prescott, Ark.
