Brother Gerald "Jerry" L. Stanley, 62 of Hope passed away, Tuesday, October 20, 2009 in Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana, Texas. He was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, on April 7, 1947 to Burton Bernard and Mary Frances Lyon Stanley. He had his doctorate in religion and minored in history. He was a pastor for 32 years. He was a member of a New Hope Baptist Church; He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Christine Chris Stanley. HIS SURVIVORS INCLUDE: HIS WIFE: Geri Guest Stanley, Hope, Arkansas One Son: Robert Bliss, Dallas, Texas. One Daughter: Heather Griffis and Jeff, Hope, Arkansas One Sister: Rosemary Stone and Robert, Carthage, North Carolina Two Nieces: Rhonda Simmons and Darrell, Pleasant Garden, North Carolina. Angela Lynn and Trey, Cornelius, North Carolina. One Great-Nephew: Taylor Simmons, Pleasant Garden, North Carolina One Great-Niece: Zoe Lynn, Cornelius, North Carolina. and several other cousins, relatives and friends.
