Mr. Gilbert Lester Brown, Jr. age 79 of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Sunday May 1, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his children. Gilbert was born May 31, 1942 in Keensburg, Illinois to Gilbert Lester and Mary Alice Stephens Brown Sr. He graduated from Hope High School in 1960. He enrolled in the University of Arkansas in 1964 where he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1967. He began working for Unitemp Dry Kiln in 1967, where he built his career of 41 years until his retirement in May 2008. During his retirement years he enjoyed planting and growing a yearly garden and keeping his land well-manicured. He also enjoyed loving and caring for his cats.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Jo Ann Kidd Brown.

His is survived by three children, Ginger Baron, Buffie Jo Brown both of Hope, Arkansas and Les Brown (Tina) of Red Lick, Texas, two grandchildren; Alex Roberts (Bobbie) and Beau Aubrey Brown, one great-granddaughter;  Adleigh Blake Roberts, one brother-in-law;  Rev. Jerry D Kidd (Sue) of Bryant, Arkansas and numerous friends and family.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday May 5, 2022, at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest 1001 South Main St. Hope, Arkansas 71801

Graveside service will be 2:00pm on Friday May 6, 2022, at Anderson Cemetery with Bro. Lane Garner officiating. Burial will follow. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie Brazzel Director. Online condolences: www.brazzelkfuneralhomes.com
