Mr. Gilbert Honea, 82, of Blevins, Arkansas, went to be with Jesus Friday, September 3, 2010, at his home. He was born in Blevins, Hempstead County, Arkansas, on May 19, 1928, to Cyrus Jennings and Frances Lenore Smith. He was a retired owner/operator of D & G Grocery in Blevins, Arkansas, a farmer, a member of Bruce Memorial United Methodist Church, Blevins, Arkansas and an active member of Blevins community area-wide benefit Bar-B-Que for Arkansas Children's Hospital since it began 24 years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, William Clyde Honea. HIS SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His wife of almost 55 years: Laurice Shapley Honea, Blevins, Arkansas. One Son: Don Honea and Janice, Blevins, Arkansas. One Daughter: Diane Westbrook and Sammy, Nashville, Arkansas. Two Brothers: Percy Honea, Hope, Arkansas and Arlis Honea, Mayflower, Arkansas. One Sister, Mary Ann Sanford, Bella Vista, Arkansas. Three Grandchildren: Lauren Honea, Blevins, Arkansas, Leann Westbrook, Nashville, Arkansas, and Allen Westbrook, Nashville, Arkansas. And numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 6, 2010, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Jimmy Teeter and Rev. Paul Coy officiating. Burial to follow in Marlbrook Cemetery, Blevins, Arkansas. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest the Funeral Home of Hope, Arkansas.
