MRS. GLADYS B. WAKEFIELD 97 of Hope, Arkansas. She passed away on Tuesday August 21, 2007, at Heather Manor Nursing & Rehab, Hope, AR. She was born in Howard Co, Ark. on July 26, 1910 to Dock L. and Ola Tarno Chandler. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and sew. She was a member of Garrett Memorial Baptist Church, Hope, Ark., their Tina Ambassador Sunday School Class and the Ruth W.M.A. She loved going to church and spending time with her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Wakefield, who died in 1971; by a special friend, Ivy Mitchell; by one brother, Alvin Chandler; and by two sisters, Ruby Chandler and Cora Billings. HER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: TWO SONS: Kenneth Wakefield and Earlouise, Columbus, GA.; Bobby Dale Wakefield and Lucy, Dallas, TX. ONE DAUGHTER: Jimmie Nell Sanders, Hope, Ark. AND NINE GRANDCHILDREN, EIGHTEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN AND SIX GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2007, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Ark., with Rev. Larry Silvey and Rev. Hal Dixon officiating.
