Mr. Harold E. Hal Avery, 92 of Prescott, Arkansas passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Mr. Avery was born, Sunday, January 19, 1919 in Hempstead County to Earnest and Jessie Landers Avery. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Avery, two brothers; Byron Avery and Dr. Donald Avery. Mr. Avery is a Methodist, a 1938 graduate of Blevins High School,attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas, attended the University of Washington in Washington State, served four years during World War II as a 1st Lieutenant as a Naval Aviator, owner of Real Estate Possibilities since 1982 in Prescott, AR, served in the Civilian Conservation Corp 1938 to 1941, rising to a Senior Leader, a Boy Scout volunteer in California, worked at Boeing Aircraft as a purchasing agent 1945-1958, a computer operator for Collins Radio in Costa Mesa, California and Past President of Millwood Real Estate Association in Hempstead County. He is survived by two sons; Dr. Steven Avery of Texarkana, AR, Brian Avery and wife, Nerissa of San Jose, CA, two sisters; Inez Clark of Hot Springs, AR and Frances and husband, Dr. Gene Ross of Prescott, AR, one granddaughter; Shaina Avery of San Jose, CA, two sisters-in-law; Shelby Avery of Little Rock and Phyllis Avery of Everette, WA, several nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Family will receive friends between 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, April 22 at Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott, Arkansas. Funeral service, 10:30am on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Midway United Methodist Church, Prescott, Arkansas. Rev. Jimmy Teeter and Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland will officiate the service.
