Mr. Harry Phillips, 91, of Country Drive of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009, at his home. He was born in Shover Springs, Ark. on October 6, 1917. He was a retired self- employed businessman having owned and operated Harrys Pawn Shop and Harry Phillips' Used Cars, both in Hope. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Hope; an Army Veteran of World War II; past President of Hope Lions Club; and former member of the Hope/Hempstead County School Board. He was preceded in death by his parents; by one son, James Alan Phillips, who died in 2004; and by two brothers, Taylor and Wallace Phillips.
