Obituary

Mr. Harry Phillips, 91, of Country Drive of Hope, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009, at his home. He was born in Shover Springs, Ark. on October 6, 1917. He was a retired self- employed businessman having owned and operated Harrys Pawn Shop and Harry Phillips' Used Cars, both in Hope. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Hope; an Army Veteran of World War II; past President of Hope Lions Club; and former member of the Hope/Hempstead County School Board. He was preceded in death by his parents; by one son, James Alan Phillips, who died in 2004; and by two brothers, Taylor and Wallace Phillips. HIS SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His Wife: (of 63 Years) June Cox Phillips, Hope, Ark. One Son: Ronnie Phillips and Jeanne, Hope, Ark. One Granddaughter: Mandy Bright and Charley, Hope, Ark. One Great-Granddaughter: Mazie Bright, Hope, Ark. One Sister: Mary Sue Huckabee, Rogers, Ark., One Nephew: Don Phillips, Hope, Ark. Three Nieces: Joan Fuller and Mike, Houston, TX. Patsy Spiller and Paul, Houston, TX. Carolyn Seville and David, Houston, TX. GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2009, Rose Hill Cemetery, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Glen Tropp officiating. Burial to follow. Arrangements by BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Ark. FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS: Monday, June 29, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas.
