MRS. HELEN RHODES JORDAN, 91, of Prescott, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas. She was born on July 1, 1918, in Cale, Ark. to Albert and Letha Sampson Rhodes. She was a homemaker, farmer and gardener; retired seamstress from the former Shanhouse Plant of Hope; drove rivets in the B52 bomber airplanes in Dallas, Texas and raised four generations of family. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Laneburg, Arkansas and the church secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Jordan, who died in 2004; by one daughter, Jan Allen and her husband Ray Allen Jr.; and by one grandson, Casey Allen; and one great-great grandson, Joseph Cox. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2009, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel, Prescott, Ark., with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating.
