Mr. Henry Howard "Pete" Tippitt, Sr., 86, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away, Monday, May 25, 2009, at his home. He was born in Nevada County, Arkansas on March 22, 1923 to Willie B. and Ruth White Tippitt. He was a member of Providence Memorial Baptist Church of Perrytown; welder and mechanic and retired from Kroger Egg City after 18 years and Army Veteran of World War II. Survivors include: His wife: ( of 20 years) Mary Dell Cox Tippitt, Hope. One Son:Howard Tippitt and Sheila; Three Daughters: Penny Griffis and Glendon; Vicki McKamie and Charles, all of Hope; and Terri Miller and David, Stuckey, South Carolina. One Step- Son Tommy Cox and Arneita, El Dorado, Ark.; one Step-daughter: Kathy Howard and Randell, Hope; And a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth White Tippitt and Willie B. Tippitt; by his wife of 42 years, May Louise Johnson Tippitt; one daughter, Sharon White; one brother, Cecil E. Mutt Tippitt; and three sisters, Gene Burrow, Myrtle Bollier and Blanche Brown. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 2:00 p.m.,Thursday, May 28, 2009, Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. James Honeycutt officiating.
