Herbert W. Griffin Jr. 89 of Hope passed away Friday September 23, 2022, at

Heather Manor Nursing Center. Mr. Griffin was born in Hope on June 8, 1933, to Herbert W

And Connie Clendenon Griffin Sr He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Barbara Flowers Burke

son-in law, Bert Wingfield and beloved wife Dorothy Absher Griffin.

He is survived by his son Glenn David Griffin, daughter Mrs. Donna Sue Wingfield, Richard Lee Griffin

several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Herbert Jr. left Hope High School and joined the Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Remey DD 668. He

had the distinction of having crossed the equator earning him the title of shellback.

Hebert was employed by Hope Novelty and Vending Co. City of Hope as a Firefighter. He was a member

of The First United Methodist Church of Hope. The Century Bible Class and the Old timers Group.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 27 from 1:00-2:00pm with the funeral to follow. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of BRAZZEL/Oakcrest
