Mr. Hollis Elvin Brooks, 89 of Blevins, Arkansas passed away, Monday, August 27, 2012 in Houston, Texas. Mr. Brooks was born August 15, 1923 in Blevins, Arkansas to Ira T. Brooks and Esther White Brooks. He is retired from W.K.M Valve Company in Houston, Texas as a machinist supervisor, a US Army Veteran of World War II. While living in Arkansas, Mr. Brooks was a member of the Bruce Memorial United Methodist Church in Blevins, living in Texas he was a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church in Richmond, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 59 years of marriage, Mrs. Geneva Whitlow Brooks, who passed away in 2006, other preceding him, two brothers; Dale and Arlis Brooks and his two sisters; Chloe Hugg and Mozelle Steed. Survivors include, his son; Jimmy Brooks, wife, Maribeth of Richmond, TX, daughter; Bonnie Sue Prince, husband, Ronnie of Nederland, Texas, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The Brooks Family will receive friends, 6:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. Funeral service for Mr. Brooks, 10:00am, Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Teeter will officiate. Burial to follow in Marlbrook Cemetery in Blevins.
